Sarah Palin.. Have we had enough yet?

A forthcoming cover piece from The American Spectator will tell the story of how Sarah Palin, the half term Alaska governor and one-time vice presidential nominee, “has racked up an impressive record electing conservatives.” She’d better! According to the Daily Beast’s John Avlon, her political action committee, SarahPAC, gave a mere “$298,500 to candidates,” while a cool $4.8 million was spent engaging the services of political consultants. You remember her position on consultants, right? They were part of a parade of horribles she criticized during her CPAC speech, in which she called out “the big consultants, the big money men, and the big bad media,” for their crimes against humanity.
As the American Spectator’s piece has yet to be published, one can’t take a look at how the magazine covers the story. What we can take a look at is how the magazine got covered, and in this case, they’ve apparently decided to “go blue.” Via FishbowlDC:

As Peter Ogburn points out:
This wouldn’t be the first time that a publication has cashed in on Palin’s sex appeal. The former V.P. hopeful famously accused Newsweek of sexism when they showed a picture of her (that she posed for) in running gear.
If you remember this incident, Palin complained, and the Washington City Paper’s Amanda Hess was not impressed by those complaints.
Some context, though! While Palin did pose for that picture, she did so for Runner’s World, not Newsweek. But speaking of! Newsweek ended its long run as a print media mainstay with a series of weird covers that reliably earned it more scorn than readers. I’m no prude. I like a good risque joke and the one that the Spectator references — Palin’s “Todd’s got the rifle, I’ve got the rack” quip at CPAC — earned her laughs and thus did its job. I hope that the American Spectator’s decision to go full “trollgaze” here works out better for them than it did for Newsweek.

I will always wonder why, if Todd really has a rifle, she had to borrow a gun from her dad to “shoot” a caribou on her TV show.

If Sarah was the regular hunter she pretended to be, she’d have her own rifle and know how to use it. She also wouldn’t be grabbing it out of someone else’s hands with her finger on the trigger. She showed us just how little she knew about the proper handling of weapons when she tried to shoot that caribou that magically stood in place despite being shot at repeatedly…how stupid did the director think the audience was or was that a mocking of Sarah? Showing the caribou standing there without moving while she attempted to shoot it five different times just might have been the director mocking Sarah for how little she knew about hunting and the fact that she would allow all those attempts to appear on the final editing.

Will the American Spectator call Palin out on her hypocrisy regarding consultants and her ridiculously low percentage of donations to candidates in comparison to ridiculous expenses? She’s not responsible for these candidates being elected, most of them were already in the lead when she chose to “endorse” them. The few that weren’t were predicted to win or were in very close races where the odds were still very good. Polling showed that Palin was far more apt to be the type of person who persuaded voters to look at other candidates whenever she endorsed someone. Apparently not that many people trust her judgment nor consider her a positive influence.

Of course the PeeZoo still believes in Palin 2016 and would love to see her go head to head in a debate with Hilary. So would I! Can you imagine the damage that HRC could inflict on Palin?

I don’t know either Lisa, since Todd, Track and Bristol hunt currently and she herself has always had a few guns that she has used in the past. She is not a stranger to guns or going to ranges. However, I was not present and cannot comment on these things shown on tv. I will say that the hunting episode highlighted her father so it never made me think twice about her using his rifle.

Syrin, it’s funny how you seem to be one of the few who still treats her as if she’s a legitimate influence. Sure there are a FEW media sources who toss her name out but these days, Sarah’s just Sarah again and people who meet her meet Sarah, a woman who hangs with her family and is just fun to be around. That’s what I’ve gathered from twitter and other social random stranger’s sites anyway.

That’s what you gather from stalking them and peeking into virtual widows.

Sarah Palin’s image depends on the idea that she is a rootin’ tootin’ gun-toatin’ mama. The only thing sadder than all those people who think that’s something to admire is the fact that they’ve been duped.

The more people get to know Sarah Palin, the less they like her. FACT.

Legitimate? What I’ve always proclaimed is… Sarah is a fraud! That would be opposite! Being that I live in Wasilla and still have a siren’s heart, I feel somewhat obligated to pass on what I deem interesting to those who also know that Sarah Palin has never been legitimate!! What I’ve heard through the years she’s been incompetent, unpredictable, visceral and dishonest! That doesn’t sound like someone fun!

Bullshit. Nobody who is familiar with guns has to have someone else reload for them. That was the dead give-away. You, as always, are an idiot. You seem to have an anal orifice at both ends. Perhaps you should see a doctor for that.

According to Levi, Sarah never fired a gun. Levi said that he had to show her how to hold a gun. Besides, if she was she a great hunter why was she so clueless in that phony teevee show?

Syrin, “loveornothing” is the infamous Palin troll “Kristy.” A delusional woman who believes Sarah Palin is the best woman on the planet. Bless your heart for trying to explain the intention of your blog post to Kristy, unfortunately she trolls the blog-o-sphere with her own pro Sarah agenda. It doesn’t matter to her that you actually live in the same town as Sarah, and that you provide incite and honesty in your blog post. She isn’t going to believe anything you write about Sarah Palin because it contradicts the “imaginary Sarah Palin world” she has created for herself.

I commend you for your efforts. I have read other Palin centric blogs and I must say you have never been unkind towards Sarah Palin. But that won’t stop “Kristy” from trying to make you out to be foolish by writing, “Syrin, it’s funny how you seem to be one of the few who still treats her as if she’s a legitimate influence.” while she clings to her imaginary construct that “Sarah’s just Sarah again and people who meet her meet Sarah…” As if Sarah Palin casually hangs out with everyone and anyone strolling around locally to every public event in Wasilla. Sorry but I don’t consider Sarah going to a publicity photo op at the Iron Dog a true example of “Sarah meeting people just as Sarah.”

Syrin, If Palin lived in my hometown I know I would not be able to be as kind to her as you have been. You should definitely be proud of your blog. Although I am a registered Independent voter, I think the Republican Party is lucky to have someone like you! Sarah Palin is a fraud, she doesn’t care about this country at all, she only cares about the fame and the money!

Pete, thank you for your comment and your kind words towards me. I appreciate those who take the time to visit my blog. If you look back just this year, I’ve found very little about Sarah that I cared to share. Most of what I’ve been involved with has been my states legislative session. Which no one, but an Alaskan would be interested in! Unfortunately the incompetency and unethical behaviors of Sarah Palin has lingered! Alaska needs a complete house cleaning!

Actually…its NOT Krusty. It may sound like her, but its really Kristen Cole.. I know because she was dumb enough to post a Flicker pic trying to defend Sarah on another post and when I went through her saved ones, there was a picture of her with her REAL name.

Believe me, I KNOW Krusty gets cheap thrills here, but this ain’t

nolaredhead Thanks for the correction regarding Krusty. Still this Kristen Cole is a Palin apologist and she shares same agenda as the delusional Krusty. The sentiment of my comment still holds true and Syrin will always have my utmost respect. She is both kind and honest and has more class in her pinky than Sarah Palin has in her entire body(including her unwashed wigs and inflatable bras!)

I can’t wait for the new book Malia Litman is writing. I think it might be a she said book, but ya never know. It is not done yet, Malia is waiting to hear from a few Alaskans. One way or another this ship apparently sails soon.

It is almost like they are proofreaders now. isn’t that a hoot to think about after all these ghostwriters and ghostbloggers. The Palins actually reading or writing something themselves. something. Um, all of ’em, any of ’em that, um, have, have been in front of me over all these years. Um, I have a va—Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock…Todd’s Time is Running Out!
