RNC Chairman Reince Priebus denied that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was asked to tone down his bombastic style for Tuesday’s keynote address at the Republican National Convention.
“None at all,” Priebus said on Tuesday when asked on “Fox & Friends” if there were any truth to reports he was asked to ease up in his convention address. “I can you tell one thing: No one wants to mess with that New Jersey attitude.”
“I don’t think they have any expectation, nor have they requested, that I have a personality-ectomy between now and next Tuesday,” Christie said last week, according to the New York Post. “They know what they’re buying.”

He uses “bombasity” and bullying in an attempt to add gravitas. It ain’t working because he has already cornered the market on pounds per square inch and bullying. He is wasting his energy. I want to hear ideas, not hyperbole. And no more Saint Reagan, too big Gubmint, and trickle down silliness. And enough with this “not intended to be a factual statement” nonsense. Is the entire GOP platform not intended to be a factual statement?
