Sarah Palin is currently without a role at the 2012 GOP convention

Newsweek’s Peter Boyer, who has been keeping his eye on Sarah Palin’s activities for a while now, learns that Sarah Palin is currently without a role at the 2012 GOP convention:

Palin would certainly light up the base at the convention—her 2008 vice-presidential acceptance speech was, in terms of partisan enthusiasm, the high-water mark of the McCain campaign—but a jolt of Palin at Romney’s convention seems most unlikely. The Romney campaign prides itself on a slavish adherence to script, and Palin cannot be trusted to avoid the impulse to go rogue. That is why, perhaps, the Romney campaign has not asked Palin to speak at the convention nor contacted her about even attending the party’s marquee event in Tampa. Queries to the Romney camp about any possible Palin role at the convention meet with a stony silence. Palin does not seem surprised. “What can I say?” she responded in an email from Alaska, when asked by Newsweek about the convention, just before heading to Michigan to deliver an Obama-thumping speech. “I’m sure I’m not the only one accepting consequences for calling out both sides of the aisle for spending too much money, putting us on the road to bankruptcy, and engaging in crony capitalism.”

“In accepting those consequences,” she added, “one must remember this isn’t Sadie Hawkins and you don’t invite yourself and a date to the Big Dance.”

If no role materializes for Palin in Tampa, that would make her the first former vice presidential candidate to get snubbed at their party’s next convention since … John Edwards in 2008.

Well, well, well. How the mighty have fallen. They could at least let her be the official greeter at the door, kind of like what Wal Mart has.

Maybe it’s because she is the GOP’s STD, and they all want to practice abstinence. Can’t say I blame ’em.

Palin will probably try the same thing she did on election night 2008. Palin will try to Bogart her way onto the stage with a speech when nobody notices her sneaking back stage and give a speech.

Oh my! I can actually see that happening in my mind and I’m cracking up!

Is there video of that moment! I remember what I was thinking when I saw that whackdoodle shaking and heaving tearing up.. She can’t stand it, she’s gonna go up there and grab that mic from McCain!

She has absolutely no sense of decorum and no respect for others. In her mind, VP was the top spot. Can you picture her presiding over the Senate? (Shivers) Yikes!!!

The Romney campaign is not going to take a chance on someone who backstabbed their running mate doing even more damage to them. They know Palin cannot be trusted to follow any type of script and she’ll do whatever she pleases, epecially if it looks like it will work in her favor. We’re not hearing her name mentioned by anyone except as a warning as to what not to do as far as a V.P. pick. Palin is getting just what she deserves. Her past is littered with the bodies of people who have knives in their back, firmly planted by Sarah. She’ll do whatever she can to hurt Romney at this point. Her screech this weekend didn’t mention him, not once, so it’s not as if she’s doing anything to promote anyone but herself. Sarah has never helped anyone else and she’s not going to start now.

You know our Sarah, don’t ya? If you don’t agree– chase it down and kill it!

She already dissed Romney last year when she high-tailed it to N.H. on her fake bus tour to steal the spotlight from Mitt the day he was giving his candidacy speech. There is no love lost between them.

She’ll show the establishment, she rented her own space at a mall near the convention and have her very own party.

I wonder if she will be jumping out of a cake or have a pole for her politi-dance.

She could invite Randi Shannon [google randi shannon] and they could not only have their very own party, but their very own country. They would definitely attract a certain demographic.

Yep, she’s been planning on crashing the convention since she rented that mall in April. Did she think the world is stupid?

She invited herself to the Belmont Stakes and broke the dress code to introduce the world to the Belmont Girls. She invited herself to the MSNBC WHCD After Party wearing a stained dressed and heels that were too large. She invited herself to the President´s dining table only to be humiliatingly intercepted by Joe Lieberman.

I believe she flew to Hawaii after her ¨Rogue¨ book tour because President Obama was vacationing there. I believe she invited herself to a tete-a-tete with the President of the United States and was absolutely ignored. I believe she then invited herself to a tete-a-tete with the First Lady of the United States to arrange a playdate for their children and was absolutely ignored.

Sarah must invite herself almost everywhere because no one welcomes her anywhere.

        Jul 16, 2012 @ 10:04:36

Indeed! Palin has to force herself on the situation because she has nothing to offer. No qualifications, no ability to think on her feet or competence to understand the talking points that are given to her. Why should she be invited? What does she offer the GOP or politics in general? Hate, division and dumbing down of politics and issues! It took a few years to confirm this in the minds of the GOP establishment, but there’s no turning back now!

The basis of Sadie Hawkins Day is that women and girls take the initiative in inviting the man or boy of their choice out on a date, typically to a dance.

Hmm, she either has no idea that it turns out the man or boy (GOP) responded to her invite with a NO! Or she is indeed going to take the initiative and perhaps hijack the convention.. Force herself on the man (GOP)

She doesn’t know the meaning of Sadie Hawkins Day. She said she “can’t” invite a date and go to the party. LOL! Just like Paul Revere who warned the British!

Yes and remember when Sean Insanity called her out on her Paul Revere BS.He said “you know you got that wrong” SHe then proceeded with a Sarah Tale why she actually wasn’t wrong. She can’t admit she was wrong EVER.

Sarah could be the scarecrow on the outskirts of Tampa making sure the crows didn’t bother the conventioneers . . . . . If she only had a brain.

I wonder if the libertarians or independents will smuggle her in. I can’t wait for the convention. Is there going to be enough parking for all the clown cars?

  10. omomma
    Jul 16, 2012 @ 07:58:43

No, she has a role. She’ll be the resident hooker; her job will be to hustle votes for Romney from idiots and moreons [sic]. Unfortunately, while she can dress the part, she hates Romney so she’ll only be there to hustle media time for herself. That’s her real job anyway.

Palin will create chaos no matter what.

I bet, in her mind, speaking at the convention has nothing to do with the convention or Romney but with 2016–and another 4 years of “will she or won’t she run?” More palinbot/pac $$$.

  12. LisaB
    Jul 16, 2012 @ 11:02:06

I agree with Sally from my hometown. She’ll do something to try to steal focus. I wouldn’t be surprised if she weren’t still hoping for there to be a brokered convention with her as the resultant nominee. Her delusions have no end.

      Jul 16, 2012 @ 13:40:34

The crazies @C4P still believe she can easily walk off with the nomination because according to them, nobody wants Romney and they know that Sarah is the only person who can beat President Obama. Of course, they also believe she’d wipe the floor with him in a debate so that tells you how delusional they truly are. The person they admire doesn’t exist. There is no Sarah Palin who cares about her country and the people in it, she only cares about her bank account!

You know, I’ll bet that if (when) Romney loses his bid for the presidency, Palin will pipe up and spew some nonsense to the effect that her not being allowed to speak was his undoing. Also, I would argue that the Republicans are more afraid of her “going stupid” rather than her (smirk) “going rogue.” For Palin and her followers, there is no difference between the two.

    Jul 16, 2012 @ 21:05:33

I don’t like Romney, but at least he isn’t stupid. I expect him not only to keep Palin out of view, but McCain (who was so reckless as to choose her) out of view as well.

We know ‘She Who Will Not Be Ignored’ is going to make some type of fuss. The question is, what type of stunt will it be this time? At this point with this hate-mongering peawit, it is about how much ridicule will her stunt elicit. Will it be A+ material for comedians, or just B-.

    Jul 18, 2012 @ 03:29:41

I highly doubt that the village idiot will attempt to crash the convention and flap her trap. Remember, the McCain campaign personnel scrubbed all those hard drives in AK in ’08; there must be plenty of incriminating evidence that was collected. If she is stupid enough to pull off such a stunt, unseen powerful forces will ensure she will be kept in line. Leaks of potential damaging information will silence her once and for all; the GOP hierarchy has had enough of the Paylins’. If she goes rogue and flaps her trap, Ailes will fire her for breach of contract, unless that is what they are secretly hoping for. Obviously, she is greedy and stupid enough to pull off such a move. Checkmate, stupid!

FOX News is pushing Romney to let the lunatic from Wasilla speak.
They’d be fools to do it. But that should be entertaining. I’ll bet Romney
will let her in the end. I think he is being bullied.

Considering the fact that she’s incapable of contributing anything of the slightest value this is probably just as well.

They can’t risk having her rally all those Ron Paul delegates. It won’t happen. She is just too much of an unpredictable liability.
