Palin Re-Play: The Slaughter Of the Thanksgiving Turkey

Remember this? You have to watch this video again to believe it. Sarah Palin appeared at a Wasilla turkey farm to engage in the time-honored practice of pardoning a turkey for Thanksgiving.

She gave an interview afterward. Not only was her intellectual prowess on display with a greater appreciation because it’s brutal, and the time consumption, there.  That’s when a worker in the background shoved a couple of turke ys neck-first into a death grinder while Palin yammered on, seemingly oblivious to the carnage unfolding behind her until she actually looks back, but still oblivious!

We’ve learned that when Palin talks, disaster follows, but usually it’s not this vivid. It brought to mind the infamous wood chipper scene in Fargo.

Kill MeWatch the surreal video, but beware, it’s not for the squeamish.

This hilarious cartoon by Mike Lukovich from 2008 now seems brilliantly prescient.

The thing that’s always cracked me up with this video is Palin’s total oblivion to the fact that it’s really not a great look as a backdrop for an interview. I guess that sums up our Sarah, find an inappropriate setting and she’s off to it like a homing pigeon.

Her boundless ego and lack of self awareness is on full display here!

    Wow.

This is comedy gold! There are two things, and two things ONLY that I thank Sarah Palin for. The first is the Turkey Pardon. The second is butchering Paul Revere’s ride. I’ve had more fun with these two lulus than a person should be allowed to have.

Julian – again true to form, first Sarah didn’t know about the cone of death, then she did. Then her staff did, then they didn’t. It’s no accident that this video was filmed at this angle – the videographer knew exactly what was going on.

I’m pretty sure she was asked if she really wanted to do the interview there and her reaction was “yeah sure, this is fine” (Just don’t get blood spatter on the lens :-))

Linda B wrote her impressions after being at the pardoning:

She wrote a flashback post two years later:

You know how Rocky Horror Picture Show took on a life of its own? I think the Palin Turkey Pardoning needs a little skit with props to go along with the video.

What makes this so delicious for me is Sarah believed she was being as presidential as President Obama during his Turkey Pardon.

It is interesting to watch old footage of Sarah when she still believed, in her heart, the Lower 48 adored her. This incident was a mere teaspoonful of the reality awaiting her.

Maybe she is completely aware of her surroundings but thinks it helps deliver her subliminal message, “don’t *uck with me” this video plus her letter to God should really clue people in as to who she is. I could list a whole slue of other things but I think those two things sums it up very nicely.

The turkey that was pardoned was Sarah Palin. My God, the woman is an empty vessel.
