Presumptive presidential candidate Sarah Palin makes a stop at Independence Hall in Philadelphia to visit the landmark building and the neighboring Liberty Bell.

Slideshow: Palin In Philly

Fox 29’s Chris O’Connell was coming into work and would up with several local media types who walked into the historical area with Palin.

This brief cellphone video shows Palin walking with reporters and a few tourists. And what do we see? Her daughter Piper pushing and rudely putting herself in the way as her mother serves up her ever popular word salad!

Palin may head out to Valley Forge, my guess she is not aware of its significance. Continuing her bus tour as part of a publicity effort paid for by her political action committee.

Wow. That *is* some headstrong behavior… I think Piper has just about had it with the media circus. The question is, of course, which part of it does she feel is causing the stress and inconvenience? Mom or the media?

I totally “get” that Piper might like to actually enjoy some of this trip and be able to walk from a building to the RV (the deliciously air conditioned RV…) without being interrupted… but when you wrap your RV in a “look at me and know who I am” promotional design, you make that exceptionally difficult to do, regardless of that coy “oh, no, not now, however did you find me” nonsense.

If Palin is serious about a run for the presidency (which I doubt she is, but it’ll probably depend on which mood swing she’s giving into when she decides) she is going to have to get Piper on script, because driving around the NE claiming to avoid the press is one thing. Running for president of the United States is quite another…

Palin sold her children’s privacy and childhoods down the river years ago. It’s just playing out on the international stage now. 😦

If you listen very closely at the very end you can hear Piper say..”leave me alone”. Family Services needs to step in.

Leave me alone, she says? Poor, photagg might need to take self defense lessons. I believe I saw that it was that sad lil girl Piper, that approached- NO encroached on the media!

It’s hard to tell what exactly she said. I’m thinking either “leave me alone” or “leave her alone”. Either way the scene was totally inappropriate. And Sarah standing there oblivious to it. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it.

I’m kinda scared for Piper. The media can be ruthless, plus I think some of the paps are starting to follow them too. If she gets pushed down or pushed aside of course Sarah will scream victim.

That kid is about a whisper away from totally losing it.

I don’t know if she’s been told to be mom’s bodyguard, or if she’s just trying to get some freakin’ attention. Either way, her mother Did Not React at ALL! Piper has got to feel like she is invisible, especially to her mom. That’s a hellacious thing for a child to have to realize.

Besides, didn’t SP say she wasn’t going to tell where they were? Just going to have a li’l “family vacation” (in that tricked up look-at-me bus), and here she is, ignoring family to say “It’s about connecting to our past” but nothing about “connecting to our kids.” “This is all about ‘We, the People,'” yet is oblivious to her child’s desperate need for Mom to be Mom.

And when will that woman ever learn to brush her hair! Geez!

What happens if a crack pot like the one in Arizona shows up. She is so oblivious to what is happening with her daughter that it is scary to think what would happen. It is really sad what is happening to the girl, maybe it time for CPS to step in.

Yep, that’s those Palin family values at work! Oy, it really is a awlful sight to see this lil girl put herself in dangerous situations to get her mother’s attention..or she could have been asked to be her mother’s security guard in hopes she’d end up on the ground. As predicted… If she gets pushed down or pushed aside of course Sarah will scream victim.

Sarah is zoned. Her eyes look through, not at, a person, place or thing.
Like she’s been programmed. Piper is steadily turning into a not very nice
young person. Why doesn’t the so-called dad in the family see this &
do something to rectify the situation. Something is very wrong in that
family’s dynamics. No one attends school regularly, the parents aren’t
home regularly, & no one around them notices & if they do, they’re
keeping quiet. And this bunch thinks themselves ready to move into the
    White House?

What a sad display of behavior, from The Quitter and Piper.
Sowah needs to quit dragging the kid around.

Sarah is so selfish. I used to believe she kept Piper close to her because she may be afraid of what the kid might leek to people. Looks like Palin taught her children to protect her just like her high school mean girl friends who would fuss over sarah when she had a tantrum. In AK last summer when the bully Todd and his thugs were pushing the teacher around and Bristol or Willow talked back to the teacher and acted like fool. Sarah is very sick to allow and/or promote this bad behavior and someone could get hurt. I hope it’s not a child.

Had I done that stunt, as my dad would have called it, I would have been spanked. Maybe even on the spot, the worst threat of all. Or if my son had done that, I would have called a major time out for everybody, family, reporters, myself…..and reconsidered the plan….

but Sarah just keeps on talking. and talking. and talking. about nothing.

Honestly, what parent could possibly think a 10-year-old kid would have fun in this situation. Have the other 3 bailed on the family vacation, assuming Trig had no choice? I’d be bummed too if I were Piper.

If they really wanted a “family vacation” on the East Coast, they should have picked one major tourist center and then rented a house on a beach – without any hoopla to Fox News and the rest of the media. This is NOT a family vacation; this is Sarah Palin spouting her ignorance for all and sundry. You can’t visit Washington DC in a day, Gettysburg and Philadelphia in a day, New York City in a day. It just cannot be done especially if you and your children hope to learn anything from the experience. Good grief!

This from a Politico article today:

[The former Alaska governor also took some time to do some public parenting, making her daughter Piper offer an apology for pushing a cameraman during a previous stop. Palin had Piper hand out two flowers to cameramen and apologize.]

I don’t believe it, plus, how effective is it for Piper to give flowers and apologize to cameramen at the “next” stop? She just wanted it to be “public”. Knowing Sarah she probably had Piper give someone in the media a couple of flowers for the “cute” factor not to apologize. I’ve never seen any Palin take responsibility for any wrongdoing they’ve ever done.

I knew it! Here’s Sarah apologizing for Piper “kind of” pushing someone…Piper wouldn’t even hand the flowers out.

I’m about 3/4 way through Bailey’s book and what strikes me more than anything is how out of her league and immature Sarah was as Governor, plus being vindictive and petty. How she got as far as she did is beyond me.

So I watched the video……I thought you Alaskans were tougher than this. As Sighren interjected into the local station’s story, Piper pushing. I am still waiting for the “push” to happen. Both her arms are at her side the whole time. As for the “rude” part, it looks like she is trying to stay close to her mom and not let the idiot reporter run her over. I know Piper has had more physical encounters playing with her friends than what happened here.

You all are so filled with hatred for Palin, you epitomize the saying of making a mountain out of a molehill. If Palin discovered the perpetual motion machine, you all would bitch and moan that she didn’t do it last week.

      Quit DEFENDING the Indefensible!
Here’s one…If Palin was caught on video eating raw meat and drinking blood, I can see people like you would probably defend her my saying that she needs her iron, she is iron deficient, it’s about staying healthy.

Yeah… she’s deficient in all the areas that really matter! Quack quack

And people like you are so filled with love for Palin, you’ve replaced brains with sawdust. You “see”, but you’re blind. You “hear”, but you’re deaf. You think you are thinking, but are empty of abstract thought processing.

I’m an Alaskan, a parent, a social worker, counselor and child welfare advocate. Piper Palin exhibited rude and disrespectful behavior. Period. If you REALLY read or researched, you would have been able to discern that little Piper has been on an abusive amount of time with her mother’s public appearances. When she was a little younger, it was fun waving to all the people and going to all those fun places ( paid for with state monies I might add) with her mother. She got spoiled. What’s so hard about figuring that out? She’s older now and getting more of her own mind – undisciplined as it is. She can thank her parents for that. Not only do you not think, you apparently are unable to “intuit” and “discern”.

Obviously sarah palin did not tutor her child on child/adult appropriate behaviors. She just gave her the old beauty queen advice of “smile pretty and wave to the people”. None of her children apparently got much in the way of learning to behave respectfully. You don’t do a damned bit of research. BTW: Here in Alaska, when sarah lived here, you hardly ever saw her without her little Piper prop. Go look up her children’s behaviors. Or is that too much for your lazy FINGERS to do?! The apples fell right under the tree!

The best I can say for you blinded and emotionally juvenile palin “lovers” is that you simply cannot think. Cannot intuit. Cannot discern. Cannot see. Can not hear. All done willfully with malice aforethought.

If that isn’t tough enough for you from an ALASKAN, I’ve got plenty more for you. I don’t have any hopes you will be able to handle it nor process it. THAT would take the ability to THINK, SEE, HEAR, DISCERN, INTUIT.

Gee Doctor, you can make a lot of conclusions by never talking or studying the subject. Or, my bad, maybe you are Piper’s therapist. If so, please enlighten us on all your insights you have from the intimate conversations you’ve had with Piper about her life with Palin. I’m sure you have enough material for several papers or a book that can confirm just how bad a mother Palin is.

Look, you don’t know squat about the Palins’ life. You are not there, you don’t know these people, you haven’t interacted with them, you may not have even seen them in real life. What you see on TV and the internet doesn’t count as far as “knowing them.”

If you think Palin is abusing Piper, then the next time they are in Alaska have the child services investigate and, if necessary, remove Piper from the horrible situation she is in. Let’s see you walk your talk…….

Oh Sighren: I am glad that you made an attempt to clean up the article, but YOU DELETED MY POST that exposed you for the hypocrite that you are. I can understand you not wanting your buddies to see how you manipulated the story to make it read that the original author was more negative towards Palin than they actually were. Shame on you. If you are going to sling the rocks at Palin for her “faults,” you need to be willing to take some shots when you screw up. How do you enjoy living in a glass house.

    Hatred for Palin: 1; Sighren’s credibility: 0
