Jon Voight: Sarah Palin ‘Saved Alaska’

By Kyle Hopkins in Anchorage —

Jon Voight would vote Sarah Palin for president and says she “saved Alaska” by quitting her post as governor, the Oscar-winner said Friday in Anchorage.

When Palin stepped down she was besieged by “nonsense lawsuits” that prevented her from governing, Voight said in an interview with the Daily News. He’s in town to shoot a small-budget thriller.

“What she did was she took the target and moved it,” said Voight, 71. “She took it away from Alaska. Great. She did a great service there. And smart as hell.”

Sure she did a great service for Alaska by leaving office. What a moron. Voight says it himself without even knowing what he admits. She left office and Alaska is BETTER off without her there to commit any more damage.

I Agree! However, I think she should be held accountable for her unethical deeds. She was beseiged by people asking questions! That’s how our process works, unfortunately…. Palin undermine the ethics law and continues to enrich herself personally off of the title of governor of Alaska. That’s directly a violation, but, she’s never held accountable.. Except by a handful, who are than ridiculed for doing so..

I always find it entertaining when the right is OK with actors making comments if they are republicans. Funny how flawed these actors are. Voight who never really had a relationship with his wacky daughter. Look at Kellsy Grammer who is divorced how many times. Look at quitter Palin and her delusional family. None of these people are people who I would want near the white house. Especially Voight who really has no idea about Palin and her time ruining her state. He is in lust with her and the right delusional age group who are getting alittle to old.

Oh yes, all Hollywood actors know about Alaskan politics. While I do agree that she did Alaska a huge favor when she stepped down, I also agree that she needs to be accountable for her actions. Her lame excuses fell far short of the truth. She quit as Governor because she had much more lucrative opportunities as a private citizen. Being Governor cut into her travel, writing, campaigning for others time.

Voight is one of a small group of celebrities who try to get attention by embracing “conservative” values. Uninformed idiot.

Yep, he fits the description of a Palinbot: white, 71, male and since he can’t get a gig acting, he’s decided the next best thing – politics.

Sarah did Alaska a big favor by stepping down. She was barely governor for two years and part of that time she was campaigning for VP. Before that she ran the governor’s office from home with her blackberry and she left the state hurting. Think of what four years would have been like!!!!

I am surprised at the number of ill-educated and uninformed replies to the facts concerning Sarah Palin/Alaska. Having lived there for three years during the corrupt time, I can appreciated the vast improvements Ms. Palin enacted which significantly improved the lives of all Alaskans.

It seems to me that besides being an opinion site (what your political affiliation might be) the responses should reflect reality and be somewhat factual…sad to say, the first 15 comments are merely the former.

Is anyone out there old enough to remember President Reagan and the prosperity he brought to America, or might that be just too much boring history and not enough negative rhetoric? God bless and every once in a while contemplate what the elders have to say…there is wisdom in those white hairs!
