The knives Have Started To Come Out For Sarah Palin … Hope Those Knives Are The Sharp Ones!

The knives have started to come out for Sarah Palin in the Republican Party.

I hope those knives are the sharp ones in the drawer!

With the half-term Alaska governor now actively exploring a White House bid in 2012, establishment Republicans have begun urging party leaders to begin a Stop Palin movement aimed at preventing her from romping to the Republican presidential nomination.

Describing her alternately as “maniacal,” “dopey” and “hated by millions,” former Florida congressman Joe Scarborough and longtime GOP strategist Ed Rollins this week called into question Palin’s fitness for office, telling fellow Republicans she stands no chance of defeating President Barack Obama in a head-to-head contest.

“Republicans have a problem. The most-talked-about figure in the GOP is a reality show star who cannot be elected,” Scarborough wrote in a article.

“And yet the same leaders who fret that Sarah Palin could devastate their party in 2012 are too scared to say in public what they all complain about in private. Enough. It’s time for the GOP to man up.”

Rollins followed suit with his own piece for, dismissing Palin as a “media star and a great curiosity” who quit her job in Alaska to “cash in on fame” created by her turn as John McCain’s running mate in 2008.

The outbursts from Scarborough and Rollins — mainstream Republicans with long-standing connections to the GOP establishment — came after Palin made disparaging remarks about former presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.

But they reflect a broader — but still largely unspoken — fear among Republican insiders that Palin’s substantial popularity among grassroots conservatives and Tea Party activists will only continue to build unless there is a concerted effort to check her momentum.

How about checking her credibility, temperament, intellectual ability to reason and  previous public record?

Are some Republicans worried about Sarah Palin? You betcha

A sampling of recent criticisms of the former Alaska governor Sarah Palin by fellow Republicans:

Nicolle Wallace, former George W. Bush communication director and McCain campaign staffer: “Her incredible cynicism, her bitterness, her aggressive attempts to claw anyone that points out an area for her to work on, I think these things will continue to reveal herself and the people that love her will continue to love her. But the people who are not so sure about her will, I think, formulate harder opinions and more clarity about her.”

Karl Rove, former deputy chief of staff to George W. Bush: “With all due candour, appearing on your own reality show . . . I am not certain how that fits in the American calculus of ‘that helps me see you in the Oval Office.’ There are high standards that the American people have for (the presidency) and they require a certain level of gravitas.”

Joe Scarborough, former GOP congressman and host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe: “Still, Palin is undeterred, charging ahead maniacally while declaring her intention to run for the top office in the land if ‘nobody else will.’ Adding audacity to this dopey dream is that Palin can’t stop herself from taking swings at Republican giants.”

Ed Rollins, national director of Ronald Reagan’s 1984 presidential campaign: “I know you were only 2 when Ronald Reagan was elected by a landslide to the first of two terms as governor of California in 1966, but I would have hoped somewhere along the way through the five colleges you attended that you would have learned a little history. And I can tell you being governor of the most populous state is a lot tougher than being governor of one of the least populous ones.”

“Dopey” almost says it, but not quite. We need a stronger word that reflects how she pursues revenge with vigor and is ethically challenged.

    Another one I found today:

    John Dean really blasted her.

I think Sarah Palin is the most unqualified person in the political arena….. Any position she is elected into she will quit mid term under violation of ethics and lying and abuse of power. …. She is the stupidest, most incompetent, most dangerous demagogue that politics has ever seen! Why? Because she’s been able present herself as a viable, capable candidate for POTUS- by the the GOP ( have been paying her legal bills), McCain ( worse mistake of his life), Lamestream Media ( think she will secure a win for Obama, clickability factor), FOXNews ( propaganda creation and clickability factor) , and her worshippers and sycophants ( 2 Tim 4:3)… When she’s not even a viable or a capable example of a wife, mother, Christian or American citizen..She’s brought shame upon all of these areas!!

As I’ve said, your comment on the wizbangblog was the first thing I read that got me watching this whacko since 8/29/08 and that it has taken this long irritates me, given the amount of damage she’s done. I’m not an R, both my parents are and none of us can stand her. The media hasn’t been doing it’s job and now the Rs are coming after this useless, lying, grifting fraud. Over two years? With that stupid of a watchdog, we’d be dead if it involved nuclear, bio or chemical weapons.

      You’re correct…The media hasn’t been doing it’s job! They’re LOVE SICK

Media and Sarah, are in a kind of relationship. Media by romancing Palin, not following up on her incompetent answers, agreeing to abide by her rules.. Who’s ever commanded this from the media and recieved it? Why Palin?
Media continues without Palin.. However, Palin CANNOT continue without the media!
It’s for their own selfish reasons they refuse to present this woman as she truly is…..Media is the dominante of this relationship, they can make or break her! It can be that Sarah is not as popular to the the lamestream media now, so she will be discarded and now we can witness this show of distraught lovers. Palin and the Media

“Dopey” pretty much says it. Whether it is a dream or a scam will define it.

Good article in the link above, although I disagree with Dean on this:

“[Palin] is learning now about the real world. She is doing some serious reading. She is not stupid…..”

    What was he smoking there?

She isn’t reading and people shouldn’t think that.

The only reason, I think, Palin wrote this book citing things “she”(lie) has read is Couric asked her that reading question. So she is trying to pretend she reads. Can’t believe Dean fell for her trick. (If she does read anything, it is probably limited to Beck, Limbaugh and Ted Nugent lyrics)

Anybody who talks in a word salady way like she does is not well read. If she was, she’d drop the unnessary words. I think that’s the giveaway.

Sarah will surely mount a campaign but most likely as a Tea Party independent candidate. She likens herself to Ross Perot, Ralph Nader, etc.
She will split the GOP ticket votes should she succeed and that will be unacceptable.

    Won’t be long now Sarah….

I don’t think she cares if she does split the GOP. She wants her vindictive revenge whoever it is.

They have only themselves to blame. Like Dr. Frankenstein, they created this monster and now they can’t control it. WAH, sorry Charlies, it’s your baby now deal with it.

Why worry about knives being sharp when clubs will do? It’s nice to see her attacked in 2000-word articles by the literate, well-educated Republicans who never liked her but wanted to use her anyway, but her downfall will come when a hundred thousand former supporters see through her and express their sentiments in ten words or less. Something like, “You ignorant, lying, cheating, hypocritical *****!!” says all that needs to be said.

      Agreed, thanks for your comment!

Yes, I know it’s been premature for some like me to have been expressing our sentiments in ten words or less about Sarah. This is a perfect string of descriptive words that I’ve had the pleasure to string together, often!
“Sarah, you ignorant, lying, cheating, hypocritical political whore!!” says all that needs to be said.
