An Alaskan has some advice for Sarah Palin

Gryphen's six pieces of advice for his ex-Governor:
1) Don't incite hate against the President. He won the election, you didn't, and acting this way just make you look petty and hateful.

2) Don't keep using your children as props. It does not make you look warm and motherly, it makes you look creepy and manipulative.

3) Don't blame all of your mistakes on others. Eventually there will be so many bodies thrown under that bus that it will be too high centered for its wheels to even touch the ground. Then what will you do?

4) Don't Facebook. Even if you hire a room full of ghostwriters the messages coming from that source make you sound less like a future leader and more like a spoiled teenager complaining to the world that nobody likes her because they are all jealous of her good looks and cool clothes. This is not how serious adults get their messages heard.

5) Don't twitter, it makes you sound insane.

6) And finally, just don't bother.

You are finished.

The media knows it.

Alaskans know it.

The Republican party knows it.

Even Todd knows it.

The only ones who don't know it are you, your small group of crazy-ass sycophants, and people who still think they can make a buck off of you.

Do yourself a favor, prioritize your family, make some money with public appearances, and try to find some peace. Learn to like yourself again, and perhaps you will be able to break your addiction to the limelight and accept that you have value even if the world is not looking at you.

His blog is dedicated to finding the truth, exposing the lies, and holding our politicians and leaders accountable when they fall far short of the promises that they have made to both my fellow Alaskans and the American people.

Patrick – go back to writing class and learn how to spell, use punctuation and lower/upper case letters. You are unintelligible – so exactly how are you planning to get any of your points across? This is about DISCUSSION, and learning from each other – and you apparently can't do either.

Gryphen? Isn't that the kindergarten teacher that promotes pornography in his blog?

… that's not what I said.I think it stands alone on its own without adding all sorts of extra creepy crap into it.

He seems to lean more to "crazy" than "sycophant." After all, he has Palin, you have Halcro.

And I will enjoy the wonderful possibilities for the next election – Bob Poe and Rob Rosenthal. Halcro might not be bad either, at least he's smart as a whip! Ken – you are rude. If you don't like Syrin's blog get off and go somewhere else. Time to learn some manners, dude. I wouldn't dream of going to a personal blog and calling out names to the author, nor would most people with a sense of decency. The rule is, if you don't like it – LEAVE. I believe that you might just hope someone clicks on your own blog link, and that's also considered extremely bad manners in the blog world. Please tell me you have some friends, family – someone, anyone, to help guide you successfully through the intricacies of public behaviour until you can do it on your own? You are never going to find a world where the majority are like minded, so you need to get along with a whole bunch of different folks to enjoy a decent life. Or live as hermit in solitude and personal solidarity – asking nothing of anyone around you because you have nothing to give in return. Make a choice, not a reaction. Jessie Griffin is not a child molester and you know it. Gossipy? Yeah – but it's his blog and you don't have to read that one either. I scan all the Alaska blogs, and to date, Inside Passage, I guess I missed the porn! Kindly point it out to us, thank you. I would certainly object to that since I go there regularly and don't want to be assaulted visually, caught off guard by porn posted on a primarily political blog.'Night all. Miss Manners, Honesty 101, and writing classes are overdue.

hey come to my blog anytime and i will be real glad to show you all kinds of manners,oh my elbows might be on the table, but i know right from wrong, or better yet open up your own blog, never thought it was good manners to go visiting and not invite some one back to their house, but i quess thats the difference between liberals and conservatives, liberals want to look right, conservatives want to be right.

Hi Ken, do you know something I don't? Who told you I was a liberal? I'm an Alaskan who doesn't like Sarah Palin, never will, and who votes in each election for the best candidate in my opinion regardless of party. I mean, ya gotta get it because you are on Alaskan Syrin's conservative blog and she doesn't like Sarah either. You aren't going to make any impact in these conversations with the label habit you have. Remember the saying about what ASSUME means? I'm sure you do, but revisiting that lesson would be a good thing.Syrin – thanks for hanging in there with your blog. I appreciate all the Alaskan blogs and the different perspectives of our beautiful, but also a bit fractured, state.

You Betcha:While I'm sure that Ken deliberately misread what I said, I'm going to credit you with simply not understanding what I wrote. I said Gryphon (Immoral Minority, yes?) PROMOTES pornogrpahy, not that he posts it. The two are not the same thing. Soapboxing as opposed to showcasing, you know?Don't worry about accidentally running across anything, there's nothing like that. Go to his site, and do a 'blog search' (top of the page) on the word pornography, and you'll get a very long list of his views on pornography, some of which I agree with, some of which are borderline disturbing when you take into account his role as an educator of children.

Inside Passage, thanks for the clarification, and yes, I found a few of his older posts. Definitely not my thing, but the 3 or so I looked at reminded my of my European friends, who have a a much more relaxed attitude about such things. We over here are pretty squeamish about being so open about such topics compared to Europeans, including me!But I've been around educators all my life, grew up in a family full of them, and have worked with children of all ages in recreation. A good teacher does not have to share their personal life w/ children, especially younger ones, and I don't find his attitude unhealthy or dangerous but if were one of his parents and had read his older posts, we'd definitely be sitting down for a talk!

i didn't misread it i just find it funny that you have a teacher that is for sex ed. for children.while people in the u.s. are considered prudish by some europeons,i also find it amazing that groups like nambla are thought of as okay in these countrys.when did america become a follower in things like sexual morals and healthcare.we need to get back in the lead and your palin is the person to do it.

Thank you for posting here on my blog. It's appreciated no matter what your perspective might be.
The list was to express what Alaskans Liberal or Conservative feel about Sarah Palin ex governor. The content is clear, it's quite accurate. I have been a Conservative Republican all of my adult life. Perhaps 'we' my fellow conservatives, can recognize we need to be part of the solution not an empty agitator or instigator.
To talk about the author rather than the content shows that each of you who feel that Palin is a moral and competent person are crazy and sycophants.
I don't subcribes to morals being unethical and abusive in power. I don't subscribe to Christian values refusing responsibility to family and GOD.
Sarah Palin is a liar and has shown to be quite incompetent of the tasks that were given to her. Sarah has left rotten fruit everywhere she's gone. GOD said a good tree does not produce rotten fruit. You support Sarah Palin in her deeds. Sarah is proud that she's desecrated her marriage and her family. Bristol pregnant; Abuse of Power; Sherry Johnston dealing drugs; Todd's sister caught buglarizing 3 homes, martial affairs. Sarah put her family out there knowing what was going on. She sacrificed them to the fire for her selfish and ignorant gain. I and many have seen that the Palin's are so clearly a disfunctional family and needed Sarah to understand her limitations and show humility. Where is the MORAL, Christan values or INTEGRITY in that? She should be shameful, but she is not.

    Sherry Whitstine Quote
"What kind of woman knowing all of this, knowing this is happening, would put her children in the position where the nation, the whole world, is going to see the uglies? It's just putting their dirty laundry out there. It just hurts my heart."McClatchy Washington Bureau: In Palin's Hometown…

    Aug 16, 2009 @ 18:55:00

Syrin, beautifully said. It hurts my heart, too – especially now that Sarah has dragged her middle daughter into the spotlight who is very lovely teenager. People can be very creepy, and if I were her I'd be spending an awful lot of time with the kids left at home, teaching them to take care of themselves, to stay strong, to rebuff advances and critiscism and most of all – tell them you'll basically kick their asses if they don't get it. Oh, don't forget the karate or aikido lessons. They'd all be working
on black belts if those were my kids, including the youngest girl. But her examples are horrible, especially that she flaunts her own looks every day as a way to get and keep attention, and frankly, to keep her base happy. That is made quite clear by both Palin's public behaviour in this regard, and the constant barrage from the weirdest of her base who spit with venom to everyone that they are jealous of her. Nothing could be further from the truth, nor more indicative of a sleazy and obssessive level of adoring of their candidate. I wince just writing that – women know exactly what I am talking about. Those kids can read and hear – how do they feel about their mother being talked about that way ALL THE TIME? They will begin to believe, if they haven't already, that all of that is OK and legitimate. Or it makes them feel uncomfortable about their own and their mother's self image and that's just as bad. Then there is the little guy, passed around like a sack of potatoes, stuck between two blackberries and EMFs flying everywhere around him, and on and on. The world speculates on his parentage, and that will never go away whether it is appropriate or not. She could mitigate that damage, even if it's not pleasant to answer to your critics when they are possibly just makin' stuff up about you – but you do it for the KID. It's always about the KIDS if you are a parent of quality cablibre. The drama, the soap opera life she leads and is so public about – it's painful to watch and to know that those kids may not stand a chance to become balanced, happy and centered young adults when the time comes. She's almost like a cartoon instead of a real person. Or maybe that's how I think of her because if I admit to myself that she's fully human, then I have to accept that she made all of those choices in full cognizance of what she was doing to her family. She chose and embraced the public life with far flung arms, and has completely abused herself and her family in the way she's gone about making her ambitions come true. Who in their right mind would want to live this way? Oh yeah, she's not in her right mind or has little left of what may have been there at one time.

Compassion = something void in your life.

Sorry JBodine – but you are projecting. There is no venom when I think of the Palin children, just sadness. You should be feeling it, too but apparently your compassion is missing or misguided. Children are the light, the hope and the future of our world and should be treated as the treasures they are.Get over it – you will never change one single mind of an independent voter to follow your cause with Sarah Palin. You have your little group, and that's all you will ever be – little, and inconsequential to any election or purpose of importance.

I'm dropping out for awhile – so argue back and forth and have a ball w/o me. I just got news that a dear friend died suddenly at a very young age, leaving behind a wife with a 2 year old and unborn child in an Alaskan Bush village which is not her home. I will be spending my time now helping her find a way to bring her husband's body home to his village on the Bering Sea coast, and all of this puts into perspective for me that this conversation just isn't important. Being caring, kind and compassionate humans is what IS important, and there is no hope of making any converts with these sad folks here.
