For Immediate Release: charging that Palin has given herself a raise for personal gain.

For Immediate Release

Monday, July 6, 2009, Wasilla, Alaska-
Wasilla resident Zane Henning will be filing an ethics complaint today against Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for continuing to collect per diem from the State of Alaska for living in her own home.
"I am charging that the Governor has given herself a raise for personal gain by using the per diem process, which is in direct conflict with Section 39.52.120. (a) of the Alaska Executive Ethics Act,” Henning said.  “The State of Alaska provides housing in the state's capital of Juneau for our Governor, so there should be no extra expense if she desires to stay in her own home.  More than a thousand state employees commute from the Mat-Su Valley daily and none of them get to pocket free money.”

The reasons why I am filing this complaint are as follows:
·         State travel regulations specify per diem can’t be claimed when travel is less than 50 miles from a state employee’s workplace.  Palin works out of her Anchorage office in the Atwood Building which is a scant 45- mile commute from her Wasilla home.
·         Palin is exempt from personnel and travel rules which means she does NOT HAVE to collect any per diem ever when working out of her Anchorage office.
·         And most importantly, State Statute 39.20.010 distinctly stipulates that the governor’s salary is $125,000.  Period. By pocketing this free money, Palin violates Alaska law by giving herself a raise that totals to thousands of dollars.
Attached documents provide proof that Governor Sarah Palin continues to collect per diem as of May 2009.

"The Governor is quitting her job and now more than ever the State of Alaska along with its residents need to be reimbursed for the per diem charges including interest and a fine.  Governor Palin is setting precedent for future governors. My hope was that one of our lemming legislators would take a stand and hold Palin accountable for this act, but since that has not happened, it is up to private citizens, like myself, to hold our Governor accountable”, stated Henning.

A "few more" complaints are pending a decision by the personnel board, the governor's office said.

alot of gov. do this, they are given a per diem, for one reason because they are saving the state money by not staying in the gov. mansion.if she's still collecting after a normal period of time then sue your little heart off.or be prepared to be counter sued for making a nuicence of your self.

While I appreciate Mr. Hennings efforts, I believe this is his second attempt regarding the per diems, and the Personnel Board dismissed the previous complaint (and will likely do same with this one). I DO have higher expectations for Kim Chatman's complaint about the so-called AK Fund Trust (which has nothing to do with AK, but is for use by the Palin's, their family and friends). Today in a TV interview, Kristen Cole, the Trustee, let it slip that the Trust was for Palin's "personal use," no longer even saying it was for legal fees. Kim's complaint was filed in April, and was NOT dismissed yet as "frivilous." I would like to believe that Palin is no longer a threat (since she will be out of office in 3 weeks unless she changes her mind). But, after reading the "Theopalinism" blog, I fear she may rile up her base toward the goal of a Theocracy rule in America.

Please allow me to expand on the previous per diem charge. Today, on CNN, her attorney, Mr. Van Flein, stated:
"Ethics complaints from critics led to her paying back taxes on state per diem funds she received while living at her home in Wasilla, outside Anchorage."

Do a little looking into things before your make a complete ass of yourself. She requested a review of State Policy regarding per diem after the issue was raised by the NY Times. It was discovered that the State was not in compliance with Federal Income Tax law and were sending out incorrect W-2s. You know, that little document you get that you use to file your Federal Income Taxes. To which I disagree with their finding. Per Diem is a re-embursement for expenses and if not re-imbursed is a deduction on Federal Income Taxes. Learn a little Tax Law before you spout your ignorance.
The Alaska Trust is a legal trust and can only be used to pay legal expenses for Governor Palin and people in her administration. Any left over funds are to be given to charity as the trustee determines. Go here and listen for yourself.

Funny you do not even have a clue about the workings of Alaska politics…Ever ask yourself why Alaskans have filed ethics complaints against this half baked executive?
They ranged from Dems to Repubs and non partisan. They knew that Sarah would ridicule and marginalize them using her sophmoroic and unprofessional press releases. These lower48 groups like this complete sycophant website c4p scare me. They have no perspective that is relavent anymore, refusal to except the truth of her liberal policies….Plus, like Sarah her followers a bullys them.

What? Did you ever ask yourself why a couple of Alaskans have filed ethics complaints that have been dismissed for want of violation of the Ethics Act.
3 or 4 people make an ass of themselves wasting public money, for what, the thrill of it. Your are claiming these selfish idiots represent all of Alaska. What a self indulgent diva you are.

What are you saying? Do you think the Natl Democrats came to Alaska to file these ethics complaints against Sarah whack job -lame duck Palin?
    I think you do

Yes, I asked myself WHY "a couple of Alaskans have filed ethics complaints that have been dismissed for want of violation of the Ethics Act." Then I found out that the Personnel Board who reviews them is at the mercy of the Governor, i.e. their paychecks dependent on her Highness. It is not a good system, IMO. And more than a couple of Alaskans have filed – many more than "a couple." People who are Dems AND Republicans. WHY? Clue: If she behaved ethically, perhaps there would not be so many complaints. Three or four have not been dismissed yet – have you read them all JBodine? Think any of them have merit – or will they be proclaimed as "frivolous" before they are analyzed?

Syrin, do you know the REAL reason that Palin stepped down?
Do you know why she is targetting you? You are not a national Newspaper OR blog, why you??
Maybe Palin is threatened by her fellow Alaskans..?

Palin doesn't have any worries about being threatened by her fellow Alaskans, we don't need to threaten anyone when the truth is so much better anyway. Liar, Liar Pants on Fire has been caught lying so many times she can't put the fire out!. Alaskans celebrated Palin Independence Day on July 3, 2009.
Palin shouldn't use sports to explain her reasons, she was nothing but a ball hog and a poor sport herself.

The Personel Board are not paid, they volunteer and receive Per Diem. The current Board was appointed by Governor Murkowski. They can only be dismissed for cause.
Yes all will be dismissed as lacking merrit. Do remember that the Personel Board does not investigate the allegations. They hire an independent investigator who files a report to the Board with a finding. The Board either concurs or proceeds as they determine.
What is your problem with The Alaska Fund Trust and its purposes? It is not your money. Are you upset with Congressman Young's legal defense fund? Are you upset with Senator Steven's legal defense fund? Are you upset with SOS Clintons legal defense fund? Are you upset with President Clinton's legal defense fund? This could go on and on.
    What is your problem?

What a dope, who said that, the DNC is paying for it. These filers are on the Alinsky payrole, as are you and Ms Moore. You should be upset with Ms Moore, she gets paid more than you. You only get remuneration for copy/paste.

Xango…no, is Syrin threatened because she just may be telling the truth, that is what I want to know. The truth is oft times known as a 'threat'
I am NOT GOP, I am a Conservative.

In your opinion, why don't you like Palin, also, are you a Conservative??
See, I lived in Cali, and thought Schwarzaneggar would somehow help Cali- I was SO WRONG.
I just want to see what the truth is here, because, quite frankly, I HATE politicians, even if they are 'pretty'

She's a politician, it's not that hard to find legitimate lies somewhere in all the load of crap some of these folks put out. For example, the 'Bridge to Nowhere' fiasco. Look it up.

She hasn't targetted me lately. I'm an active Conservative Republican, I'm an active Christian, I know her personally. She doesn't want to focus on what my opinion might be. She tried it already, she's well aware of my moral character.
Sarah did sic her 24 year old lap puppy Ivy Frye on me. Sarah must have given her my number to call me at home to first say 'How Dare You" than demand that I stop blogging about Sarah. After I laughed in her face and gave her a brief lesson on the first amendment and the rights that I have as a private citizen and concluded in telling her I have the right to be free of fear of retribution by my government and it's representation. I then told her she barking up the wrong tree… I and others have been harrassed by our government/governor for saying things she doesn't like to hear, the TRUTH.

As of Aug 2008 when the Republican party chose to perpetuate a hatemonger, liar and fraud to be a possible VP for my Nation in the person of Sarah Palin….. It's been a fight ever since….I've considered myself Conservative to the Core- Republican No More you could use it if you want… 🙂

It's pretty simple for me to see, Palin doesn't know the difference
between lies and the truth, especially when it comes to fleecing
Americans in broad daylight for a bogus legal fund. She's messed
with Alaskans heads enough, at least she is no longer using the
Governor's office for her fundraising scams.

  21. Inside_Passage
    Jul 28, 2009 @ 09:18:00

It's unfortunate that she's not the only one who doesn't know the difference between lies and truth. Her supporters and detractors have been known to be equally bad. Welcome to the Hell that is politics.

  22. Syrin from Wasilla
    Jul 28, 2009 @ 09:33:00

Detractors? Everyone needs some, at Sarah's level of corruption she needed many. Welcome to the Hell that is politics. If you can't take it, QUIT!
Listen to my parody song Politics is a Battlefield.. They all mean so much more now
    I love it!

  23. Inside_Passage
    Jul 28, 2009 @ 10:17:00

Absolutely nothing is wrong with detractors, so long as they're committed to the ethics they claim to uphold. Otherwise, they're no better than Palin who supposedly championed the whole ethics thing. Perhaps you should thank Murkowski for being so corrupt that Alaska felt it had to take what it thought was the next best Republican.Yeah, thanks for -that- Murkowski. Oh yes, I do agree – she clearly can't handle the heat, and needed to get out of the kitchen.
