Christian Hating Liberal Fascists

Forget what the polls say. Forget what the media tells you. Forget Hollywood. Forget Twitter trends. Forget the politicians, the interest groups, the lobbyists. Forget all of it. They lie. What they project is a distortion, an illusion, a mirage. We are not what they make us out to be. America is not the country they want it to be.

The truth — the TRUTH — is that America is still mostly Christian, and most Christians disapprove of killing babies, and strongly believe that the institution of marriage cannot be changed, altered, and modified to make room for modern ideological fads.

From a political perspective, there is no such thing as a liberal fascist. Those of us with degrees in political science know this. When examined from a political perspective, one who has studied political science knows the two words are the complete opposite of each other in meaning. Iirc, the term was coined by Jonah Goldberg in a book he wrote. He coined the term, some read the book and began to believe the term had merit. It doesn’t because the term has played no role in either political science or history.

As for the argument that most Americans don’t like abortion, I’d say this is 100% correct. The difference occurs in how some view individual rights. Those who believe a woman should have the right to choose tend to believe it is her right to decide whether she elects to have an abortion or not. Those who believe every woman should give birth to every baby tend to believe that the woman, although it is her body, should not be able to make her own decision about whether to have an abortion or not. Neither of these positions is based solely on “liking” abortion or believing it is okay to “kill” a baby. Imho, they’re simply two different ways of looking at individual rights.

Anyone who doesn’t “like” abortion should certainly be supporting comprehensive sex education and increased access to birth control for all. Those are two things that have been proven to decrease abortion.

majiirm, you are absolutely right. Liberal fascist is an oxymoron. Anyone who demands a woman has no right to choose what happens to her own body and demands the state shall decide her fate is the perfect definition of fascism in my mind,

fascism |ˈfa sh ˌizəm| (also Fascism)
an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.
    • (in general use) extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice.

I do think it’s typical of a certain Christian mindset to perceive persecution where there probably is none. The show was a pilot that didn’t get picked up. Maybe it didn’t get picked up because the network didn’t want to deal with this brou-ha-ha, but that’s business. It wouldn’t be the first time a network avoided potential controversy. They’re there to make money, not to take risks that don’t pay off. Trying to get a new show off the ground involves risk. Trying to get a show of the ground with pre-emptive negative publicity is much riskier. It’s called capitalism. Invest in stuff that will make you money.

It could also be the show wasn’t very good or was too duplicative of the other shows on the network. There is certainly a plethora of home remodel shows. I actually think The Property Brothers is one of the better ones.

However, while I dislike these sorts of “campaigns,” I do think people have the right to “vote” with the dollars. I will never shop at Hobby Lobby again if I can avoid it. I *opened* the store a mile down the road, and as a former employee their recent posturing about the contraception mandate annoyed me greatly. So, they will not get my custom if I can avoid it.

As for what “most” American believe, I think what most Americans believe in is freedom from the tyranny of the majority.

You are correct about the Hobby Lobby posturing. They previously provided insurance for employees that covered the contraception that they are now objecting to.

How about we, “Forget what this guy says on his blog!!” Matt Walsh, the author of this blog post does not provide any evidence to back up his ridiculous rating! He claims one lone gay blogger complaining about this stupid reality show was the reason the network scratched it from the planned schedule before it ever aired. In reality the more likely scenery was that the networked scrapped it after it was viewed by a focus group and given bad reviews. The concept of the show isn’t original and I doubt people would have been interested in watching a D-list version of Extreme Home Make Over! I’m surprised you would link to such trash!!

There is a lot of baloney and hate in that article. And where is the proof? The article reeks of bias and personal agenda.

Abortion is not, and never was, about killing babies. Those who want to enslave women attempt to say otherwise. They speak nonsense
